Intro to patchwork

On Thursday we have a two week introduction the patchwork course starting. It begins with a short talk about what a quilt is, then students get to patchwork and quilt a cushion cover using one of 3 techniques. Below is the hand sewing made from some of the gorgeous sherbet pips. The sample uses charm squares which are great for English piecing as you get lots of different prints. The back in pretty pink, trimmed with some ric rac. One of my customers made a hexagon bed runner whilst on holiday from a couple of charm packs and said it was great as she didn’t gave an iron and the small pieces of fabric made the project portable.
The other cushion options on the course are log cabin and dis nine patch. The course is £30 for the 2 weeks and that includes fabric and wadding for the front and plain cotton fabric for the back- you just need to add a cushion inner.
