One of the designers whose patterns we stock is Heather Bailey. (Her website is here http://www.heatherbaileystore.com/?Click=25 ) The pin cushion pattern looks particularly fun, so I asked a friends 16 year old daughter if she would make it up and give me her feedback. To make the ones below, she used some of our Flower Bucket material (£2.00 a fat quarter) and 30% wool felt which is £1 a sheet. They were quick to make and, and she said the instructions were good and very easy to follow. As they are quite small you don’t necessarily need to buy fabric – you can use the scraps you have in your sewing cupboard at home. As well as being pin cushions they would look pretty in a bowl or make great children’s toys. The pattern is £10, which works our £2.50 per item. We have 2 left in stock.
Don’t they look fab (and don’t you think for a 16 year old she is showing some promising sewing talent – watch out Amy Butler!)
